Keynote title: Sustainable systems of innovation and economic policies for development: Examples from Central America

Speaker: Dr. Olman Segura-Bonilla, CINPE-UNA, Costa Rica

Dr.Segura-Bonilla holds Ph.D. in Economics, emphasis on Innovation and Technological Change, from Aalborg University in Denmark. Professor of the International Center of Economic Policy for Sustainable Development (CINPE-UNA) of the National University; Former Cabinet Minister of Labour and Social Security of Costa Rica; President of the National Learning Institute (INA), a leading institution in technical education at the national; Rector of the National University of Costa Rica; President of the Superior University Council for Central America (CSUCA).
Dr. Segura is a visiting research professor at the Maryland International Institute for Ecological Economics, University of Maryland, U.S.A.  For 10 years he was on the Editorial Board of three journals specialized in Ecological Economics, and currently he forms part of the Editorial Council of the Journal of the Ibero-American Network of Ecological Economics.  
In 2021, Prof. Segura-Bonilla was awarded the Danida Alumni Prize 2021 for his pioneering and tireless efforts to use innovation and new knowledge to advance the green transition in Costa Rica; Secretary General at the Macro Universities of Latin America and the Caribbean Network and the President of the National Council of Rectors (CONARE) of Costa Rica.
 
Speaker: Rahel Belete, Kilimanjaro Innovation Hub
Rahel is a co-founder of Kilimanjaro Innovation Hub (KIH). KIH is established with a broad social entrepreneurial vision of capacity building of the youths, empowering with skills to remove insecurity and instill confidence. Envision a nation free from unemployment and ensure fruitful engagement in the economic development of the country by attaining innovation, entrepreneurship and digital literacy.
Rahel is a self-motivated professional with a proven track record of success in project cycle management, social marketing, networking and advocacy, management and leadership. Proven ability to restructure failing programs to improve productivity, effectiveness and raise necessary funds (organization transformational leadership). Rahel is a good communicator who developed massive and well-accepted communication campaigns for HIV/AIDS, Family planning, Oral rehydration Salt. She provides coaching, mentorship and training.
Working for Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) as Country Director Ethiopia since May 2022. Prior to joining CHAI, Rahel worked for Marie Stopes Tanzania for five years as a Deputy Country Director and spent eight years with DKT Ethiopia, leading the marketing and communication innovations of the varied social marketing programs and products.
Rahel holds a PhD from Bulacan State University Philippines, in Business Administration, masters in Organizational Leadership from Azusa Pacific, University, California.

Keynote title: Knowledge application for economic and enterprise competitiveness in the context of Africa's development and Economic transformation

Speaker: Dr. Bosun Tijani, Co-Creation Hub, Nigeria & UK

Dr. Tijani is one of Africa’s most prominent tech innovators. He is founder and CEO of the Co-Creation Hub Nigeria (CcHUB), the iHUB Nigeria & Kenya, and the Design Lab, Kigali. He will bring a very interesting mix of pan-African practitioner – academic perspectives into the Innovation & Development theme. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics; Master’s degree in Information Systems and Management from Warwick University; and a PhD, Innovation & Economic Development from the University of Leicester.
Bosun is passionate about creating and leading platforms that have provided aspiring innovators the visibility and credibility they need to prototype, build and scale digital innovations across Africa. This has been acknowledged locally and globally with accolades including his inclusion in the list of 100 Most Influential People on the continent by New Africa Magazine. Under his leadership, CcHUB has driven the growth of social innovation and technology across Africa through support to ground-breaking initiatives and businesses including Lifebank, BudgIT, Taeillo, Drugstoc, CcHUB Growth Capital, the CcHUB Design Lab (Rwanda) and the recent acquisition of Africa’s first known tech hub, iHUB (Nairobi).
